Summary/Objective
Summit Management Consulting, LLC. (Summit) must provide an excellent education to all of our students consistent with the mission, vision, and goals of the Academy and with the core values of Summit.
Essential Functions

  • Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of PBIS intervention programs that address the needs of all students.
  • Collaborate with the student(s) teachers and parents regarding the student(s) behavior and corrective action steps.
  • Develops and administers disciplinary procedures in accordance with district policies and state laws; receives referrals and confers with students, parents, teachers, outside agencies, and law enforcement; responds to and resolves parent, student and staff concerns and complaints; assists with suspensions as necessary.
  • Supervises students on campus before and after school; monitors students during lunch, recess, between classroom changes, and other activities; instructs students on appropriate behavior, disciplines students in accordance with established guidelines and policies.
  • Responsible to call parents and communicate student behavior, attend meetings as necessary regarding absenteeism and behavior; provides leadership for attendance improvement efforts.
  • Supports the teachers with challenging student behaviors and works to improve the success of the student(s) in the classroom.
  • Participates in meetings with staff, parents, and students to help in focusing on the success of each student and minimizing or eliminating the student’s behavior.
  • Works with the principal to establish a safe and secure learning environment for all students.
  • Develops and/or implements key student life initiatives, including Laker Leaders, honor rolls, field trips, transition activities, and peer mediation.
  • Creates and engages in events which promote school spirit, including rewards assemblies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required, Michigan Teaching Certification in School Administration preferred, and previous experience required. Previous experience with behavioral management and PBIS.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
